Reading and sharing stories can:

  1. Reading and storytelling with babies and children promotes brain development and imagination, develops language and emotions, and strengthens relationships.

  2. Help your child get to know sounds, words and language, and develop early literacy skills

  3. Learn to value books and stories from a young age

  4. Develop a child's interest in reading books

  5. Spark your child’s imagination and stimulate curiosity

  6. Help develop your child’s brain, ability to focus, concentration, social skills and communication skills

  7. Help your child learn the difference between ‘real’ and ‘make-believe’

  8. Help your child understand new or frightening events, and the strong emotions that come with them

  9. Help your child learn about the world, their own culture and other cultures

  10. Teaching moral values through interesting stories can have help the child remember and implement them

At Gopika Academy, We teach great Indian mythological epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat to kids. As parents, we must teach our children to respect and honor the elders of the family.
